Good evening Representative's Weldon, Wood and Johnson. Tomorrow will represent a historic moment in the Iowa Capitol. With your yes vote, and support of this bill, this tax on vape and similar products will fund pediatric cancer research at the University of Iowa, in the pediatric oncology division which is lead by Dr. David Gordon. Dr. Gordon testified this past Monday that $3 million will be transformative. My daughter Devyn is now 3yearsold, she was diagnosed with AML in July of 2023, her treatment was 5 rounds of chemotherapy, the same therapy that was used in 1981, and the same therapy that would be used if you or I were to be diagnosed with AML today. The only way to change this, is through research. We lived with Devyn on the 11th floor at Stead for 6 months, did the WAVE 6 times, and now she's been in remission for over 2 years. Many other kids have not had the same outcome, I'll be telling 2 of their stories tomorrow. Thank you! Scott Kaas Devyn's dad
