Tom Chapman [Iowa Catholic Conference]
Iowa is facing significant challenges with water quality. The Catholic Church teaches that access to clean, safe drinking water is a fundamental, inalienable human right essential for life and human dignity. Specifically, the Iowa Catholic Conference is supporting a $600,000 appropriation to maintain the statewide water quality monitoring program headquartered at the University of Iowa. We appreciate the $300,000 in funding that is contained in HSB 772.We also support the Choose Iowa program and welcome the appropriation to help schools participate.
