Representatives, My family owns a time share on lake Okoboji that has a history of mismanagement by the management company. The primary problem is lack of access to financial records. Ad hoc groups have considered legal action but because of an identification clause contained in the management agreement, owners are in effect litigating against themselves.I believe passage of SF2448 would be beneficial to all time share owners if two changes are made both contained in subsection 2. The first changes "MAY" to "SHALL" make records available to unit owners. The second change is to require any PAPER COPY of records to be available on site. The current management company keeps records available at their Virginia office hardly accessible.Thanks for your consideration.
