I urge support of the amendment that Representative Harris will propose to remove the codification of managed care from SF 2422. After 10 years of Medicaid managed care in Iowa access to home and communitybased services (HCBS) through waiver programs are unreliable and restrictive through regular denials jeopardizing the health, safety and wellbeing of individuals with disabilities like my adult son. Given the ongoing problems it is counterintuitive to codify managed care in Iowas Medicaid program. So I urge you and your colleagues to support Representative Harriss amendment tomorrow to remove the codification of Medicaid in SF 2422 tomorrow and later when the bill is heard on the House floor.
