Opposed. Stop using tax dollars to fund private institutions, especially if those institutions cannot pass an audit. Public funds belong in public schools.

AGAINST. Please vote NO on HSB 676. Public money and public resources belong to public schools and the children who attend them. You all love to say "families have a choice" so then why don't they have to deal with the consequences of those choices? If they don't want to send their kids to public schools, fine. But they don't get to turn around and utilize the resources that public schools are using THEIR UNDERFUNDED MONEY for. DO BETTER.

Opposed. Youre already underfunding public schools enough. We get it. Youre actively trying to destroy public education and the 90% of Iowan families who send their kids to public schools have had enough of it. Its obvious you dont care about your constituents, because no matter how many Iowans pack the room, you still do whatever YOU want. Midterms will be very heartbreaking for you and your Republican colleagues.

OPPOSE. Fully fund (5% SSA). This does nothing to strengthen our public schools and in fact increases the burden on them while actively defunding them. Using buzzwords like "innovation" and "charter schools" while slowly implementing the privatization of public schools. One of Iowas greatest assets is our schools. Gov. Reynolds has shown she wants to starve them out. By gutting AEA, by creating the school voucher program, proposing HSB 676, and by continuing to underfund. Every step weakens the school system so the republicans can claim the schools arent cutting it and will need to be privatized. That is their end game for most state programs privatization. Privatization will cost you more. There will always be a middle man, and a person at the top drawing profit.

OPPOSED. Public money belongs in public schools. Private schools are private for many reasons, and lately in our history it means forprofit schools that get their profit from taxpayer funding through vouchers. Iowa once excelled in education. It appears the State no longer wishes to especially with the minimal funding increases past. These bills and legislation are micromanaging our communities. Please end this bill.

Oppose HSB 676. Public dollars belong in public schools, no matter how you try to hide the transfer.
