Division III, Section 7 is redundant. Iowa Code 692A.101(23)(a)(7) already includes employer's name and address. The only additional identifier in this bill is "and telephone number." It would be more efficient to just add those 3 words to the existing subsection.Iowa Code 692A.101(23)(a)(20) already includes vehicle information, including "vehicle description." It would be more efficient to just add "make, model, and color" to the existing subsection.Division V has an incorrect statutory citation. The language amending Iowa Code 812.8 states that "A charge of a forcible felony shall be deemed a recent overt act for purposes of civil commitment proceedings under chapter 229." The term "recent overt act" does not appear in chapter 229. It is defined and referenced in chapter 229A Iowa Code 229.2(11). This refers to an act of a "sexually violent nature." Few forcible felonies involve sexually violent conduct.
