I certainly applaud efforts to end human trafficking. I understand the fees for wire transfers are meant to be a deterrent however it is unclear to me how 5 dollars does that. Do these fees apply to just the average Iowan needing to send money to family? I would like to see harsher penalties for people who abuse our fellow humans. Will be listening to the sub for more information.

Human trafficking is one of the lowest offenses perpetuated by a human being to another human being. If one survives, returning to normal life can take years. The emotional and mental scars are forever. At what point do we start talking death penalty for human traffic offenders? I support the bill but think the consequences should include something that would deter anyone from anywhere in the world from doing this in Iowa.
