Iowa loves free markets, so I support SSB 3067. Letting EV makers like Tesla, Rivian, Lucid compete openly isnt about sidelining our dealersits choice for buyers. Local dealers keep selling the brands they partner with; this just levels the field so folks can pick whats best for themselves without red tape that forces most to drive out of state for delivery. Lets give all Iowans easy accessvote yes.

The ability for a consumer to choose if they can buy a car direct from a manufacturer or from a dealership would give consumers more options and abilities to exercise their rights as a consumer. Any other product can be bought from the manufacturer or a third party, not just a third party. The ability to have a consumer choose is what America is supposed to be about, not having a government decide where a person can buy a product. Electric vehicles need to be treated the same as any other vehicle, as there is no valid reason to delegate between the two because of what fuel they use. Regardless of opinion upon these vehicles, the consumer should decide, not a large government.

I am for allowing manufactures of BEV to be licensed dealers. It is allowed in many other states at this point and Iowa needs to keep up with up and coming technology and not fall behind

I am writing in support of SSB 3067, which would authorize certain manufacturers of battery electric motor vehicles to be licensed as motor vehicle dealers in Iowa.As an Iowa resident and repeat electric vehicle owner, current law has required me to travel out of state, including to Kansas City, to purchase my vehicles. Allowing instate purchasing would be more convenient for consumers and would keep sales activity and related economic benefits in Iowa. This legislation would expand consumer choice, modernize Iowas automotive framework, and support job creation through local sales, service, and support operations. A narrowly tailored approach can coexist with Iowas existing dealership network while positioning the state for the future of transportation.I respectfully encourage consideration of SSB 3067.

Support a free market and more competition in the car industry. Why cant I buy a Tesla locally?

I strongly support the ability for battery electric manufactures to be licensed as motor vehicle dealers. This gives Iowans more choice and encourages people to buy within the state as opposed to going out of state. Additional jobs would result from passing this legislation.Thank you for considering my comment.

People of Iowa should be allowed to easily buy Tesla vehicles in Iowa. I had to purchase my Tesla in Kansas City and drive all the way there and back. This is ridiculous. The antiquated law needs to be updated with the changing times. Thanks.

I hope the committee and legislature does allow this. I've purchased 2 Tesla vehicles now, both had to be out of state. Sad loss of IA funds. It also makes it feel like I live in a primitive state, fearful of change the people want. Please allow this!

I would urge you to consider this bill strongly. My wife and I currently own 2 electric vehicles, both Teslas. We have had to go to Minneapolis to pick up our vehicles, taking with us the money we spent for meals, traveling and shopping, all out of state due to antiquated laws that would not allow us to purchase our vehicles in our own state. The direct to consumer model is cleaner, faster and all around easier for the consumer

Iowas outdated dealership laws hinder Teslas entry, limiting economic growth, EV adoption, and consumer choice. Allowing direct sales would create jobs, boost clean energy, and attract innovation. Modernize laws to benefit Iowans.

All manufacturers of vehicles should be allowed to sell directly to their customers.

No giveaways to Elon Musk. Vote no on this bill.

I support this and encourage you to vote yes. EVs should have a level playing field with all cars and Iowans should have the choice to purchase one in their home state. As a Nebraskan, I and hope this legislation positively affects your friendly neighbors. A

Buying a car is painful through dealerships. I've done it multiple times. Purchasing through your phone or website is so much easy and less painful. While you're at it approve Tesla financing and Tesla insurance please.

I strongly support SSB 3067 because it will encourage innovation in the electric vehicle market by allowing manufacturers to sell directly to consumers in Iowa. This could lower costs, improve access to EVs, and support our states transition to cleaner energy. As an Iowa resident, I believe this promotes competition and benefits consumers without harming existing dealers, especially since it only applies to makers without prior franchises. Please pass this bill forward.Thank you,Ryan Young

Please allow manufacturers to sell direct. The franchise dealer ship is an outdated model. Ive purchased three Teslas over the last seven years and it has been the easiest quickest car purchasing process Ive had and I have purchased over 20 vehicles personally and for my business.
