Daniel Miller [HCT, Inc.]
My name is Dan Miller. Retired battalion chief with Omaha Fire Department. I work for a manufacturer of water additive alternatives to foams, which are limited in their versatility and application, generally, to certain ClassB (pooled ignitable liquids), and Class A (natural products and vegetation, for example). This legislation has the potential to limit Iowa fire departments, through legislative incentives and pressure, to Soybeanbased foam. A factor that leaves local firefighters open to today's hazards, and with fewer choices. We make NFPA 18A Encapsulator Technology PFASfree nano technology water additive which uses CORN (an Iowa farmer product, and much more of it than soybeanbased foam) as one of it's base ingredients. Encapsulator Technology:1. Works on ALL classes of fire.2. Reduces firefighter carcinogen exposure.3. Extinguishes lithiumion battery and EV fires (no foam does this). Please call me to testify in favor of a wider legislation that benefits all.
