AGAINST. What's the business case for a bill like this? It was introduced last year and didn't go anywhere... Professional Educators of Iowa, Rural School Advocates of Iowa, School Administrators of Iowa (SAI), Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB), Urban Education Network of Iowa (UEN) are all against this.

HF 332 is another onerous attempt to undermine the quality of Iowa's public education system. Please vote NO!I've read this bill and am wondering what possible rationale there could be behind it. In terms of staffing, this is a nightmare. What will the teacher who's responsible for the daytoday instruction of that course/class do when it's the administrator's turn to "keep his/her skills sharp"? Do they take a pay cut? Do they "sub" in the administrator's office while s/he is in the classroom?Secondly, what an insult to the professionalism of educators whose skill set is wellsuited to administration! Is the underlying message that our administrators are "out of touch" with what goes on in the classroom? Are the authors of this bill familiar with how administrators maintain their licensure? They are required to spend time in the classroom already. This bill is an unnecessary exercise in commandeering the delivery of instruction in our public schools. Please vote NO!

This bill makes no sense. Please vote NO. School administrators jobs are to perform administrative functions like managing operations, staff, and school policy, and not to teach students. This seems like another bowl of spaghetti thrown at the wall to disrupt our public schools. Please refocus on the funding to our public schools and eliminating the voucher program before our budget looks like Kansas or Missouri.

Subcommittee members,This bill is going to accomplish 1 thing, dumbing down and not preparing our students for college, tech schools or the work world! It will also give voucher/homeschools an out to do less and make more money. Course work criterion, school day and year length should be standardized so regardless where a student attends they will recieve the same education! The use of Hours has not helped perpare our students. We need standardization, consistancy!Thank you,Meredith Keela Van Vleck ISDTexas 35 years Retired
