Thank you for bringing this bill for consideration. There are many elderly residents in my community living on a fixed income who suffer greatly when money is short. This will give them more time to reach out for assistance in an emergency.

I urge the subcommittee to support low income people in times of extreme cold and heat. As extreme weather becomes more common and Iowans continue to struggle with high energy costs, people can not be cut off from lifesaving energy resources during weather emergencies. This would primarily effect working families and elderly people.
