Mike Owen [Common Good Iowa]

Common Good Iowa is registered opposed to this resolution. The proposal is undemocratic and blocks future voters and their elected legislators and governors from making changes that they deem necessary for the common good of the state. As the state budget situation already is becoming precarious due to recently passed tax cuts and tremendous uncertainties in the economy, this is the wrong time for such a radical change that puts as few as 17 state senators elected for fouryear terms in charge of the state's fiscal future for decades to come.Please see the onepage document filed here for further explanation, or feel free to contact us.
