More important, the State Geologist needs to publish updated coal mine maps LSA can put State Library of Iowa staff digitizing all the old mine records when they have down time. Warren County and much of Polk had vibrant coal mines 100 years ago that are now accessible via robotic mining.I would designate the Spring Hill coal mine shaft as tax exempt for five years it runs under farm ground near the river once drained it would be ideal for Vermeer etc to test new equipment so Iowa can move to energy independence of nuclear/wind/solar base load with coal/gas boilers during peak seasonal load.
