Please vote OPPOSED on HSB 216. This bill would make it impossible to purchase items such as cooking oil, crackers, and water, among other necessities. It also raises numerous questions, like: Is flour considered a grain, or has it been classified as too processed? If someone uses their SNAP card to make purchases across state lines, will they be able to buy more than whats allowed in Iowa? Could this lead to people shopping outside of the state, ultimately harming the economies of cities near Iowas borders? Vote No.

Please vote AGAINST HSB 216. This bill allows dairy milk which is fine for many but doesnt allow for other non dairy options such as almond milk, coconut milk or oat milk. It also doesnt allow for egg substitutes. Many have allergies to dairy products, my grandson is one. He starts to break out in hives if he has anything with dairy milk. We have special cheese for pizza and need vegan chocolate chips to make cookies. There are many children in the state of Iowa like my grandson. Also it appears that there is no allowance for basics such as flour, oils/shortening, spices, etc. what about canned soups, boxed macaroni and cheese and spaghetti sauce?I appreciate that the spirit of this bill is to pay for healthy choices however the bill as it is written leaves me with many concerns. Please vote no.

Vote against hsb248 and hsb216! I could possibly lose my Medicaid, and won't be able to afford my prescriptions. Vote against hsb216! The government cannot tell us what we can and can't eat!
