You do know this bill, HSB245, veterinary immunity, is unconstitutional, don't you? Iowa Constitution, Art. 1, Sec. 6 is very explicit. Do you know what it states?"Article I BILL OF RIGHTS. 6 Laws uniform. All laws of a general nature shall have a uniform operation; the general assembly shall not grant to any citizen, or class of citizens, privileges or immunities, which, upon the same terms shall not equally belong to all citizens."You do know that if you vote to pass this bill, you will be knowingly and willfully violating your oath of office? An oath you swore, and signed, before your family, fellow legislators, constituents, Iowa citizens. Does it give you even the slightest pause to wonder if by voting for an unconstitutional bill and violating your oath of office, if it plants a seed of doubt in people's minds as to the trustworthiness of your word. The constitutional issue alone should be compelling enough to vote no, do not pass, on this bill.

I am opposed to HF596. You must not remove the candidate requesting the recount and the apparent winning candidate having the ability to choose their designee and replace the recount board with the commissioner, staff or employees. Giving the candidates only observers and not recount capability is wrong. You must not give the decision to do a hand recount in the hands of the commissioner now being placed in charge of the recount. The desire for a hand count MUST be with the candidate requesting the recount. This bill gives the commissioner the power to choose hand or tabulator, not both. Do not move this bill forward
