I SUPPORT the passing of this bill and ask that the committee consider an amendment. A mandate of all local governmental bodies serving in or subject to the role of fulfilling open records and meeting laws, including school board members, superintendents and lawful custodians of records serving the public to participate in a professional training through IPIB, IASB or similar to ensure all are equipped with the provisions of Chapter 21 and 22 of Iowa Code, as it pertains to open records and meeting requests. Thank you for prioritizing this issue and I look forward to supporting this bill to the floor.
