VOTE YES SF120 In no place in Iowa code and at no place within the state of Iowa should a minor be able to consent to any medical procedure, treatment or product. It seems that should go without saying. It also seems that it should go without saying that a medical professional, or someone acting on their behalf should never be able to offer a medical procedure or product to a minor without a parent/guardian present. Please pass this bill to protect Iowa parental rights.

In all other cases, for care of a minors health plan and other vaccines consent is required. If this is a vaccine, parents and guardians must be informed for it should be no different or separate consent to the minor. Minors are minors; just as any vaccine is a vaccine. All parties should be informed and consent to any permanent agreement or decision in any matter.

Please support SF 120! Parents must have the ultimate authority when it comes to medical preventions and interventions their children do or do not need.

Vote yes on sf 120. Parents need to be involved in these medical decisions as risk and medical history are a great part of these decisions. When minors make these decisions out of coercion rather than informed consent it increases the risks for those patients.

Please support bill SF 120.Parents who care for and know their child's health history should be the only ones legally to consent to a minors medical intervention of any sort. At the end of the day, if the child has an adverse event the parent will not know that this medical intervention happened and will not be able to care for child properly.

Please pass this bill. Minors do not understand implications of medical choices as well as adults.

I strongly support Senate File 120, which ensures that parents remain involved in critical medical decisions affecting their children. Vaccinations, especially those for sexually transmitted diseases, are not just routine medical treatmentsthey involve longterm health considerations, potential risks, and personal beliefs that should be weighed carefully by families. Parents have both the responsibility and the right to guide their childrens healthcare decisions, particularly when it comes to preventative measures like vaccines. This bill restores that parental authority, ensuring that minors do not receive vaccinations for sexually transmitted infections without proper parental oversight.SF120 does not take away a minors ability to seek testing or treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, which remains an important safeguard for public health. Instead, it simply aligns vaccination policies with the fundamental principle that parents should be involved in significant medical decisions for their children. This bill strikes the right balance between public health and parental rights, protecting both individual autonomy and family integrity. I urge lawmakers to support SF120 and uphold parents role in making informed medical decisions for their children.

I support SF120 I believe no child should be able to consent to any medical treatment without a parent. Parents are there to know their medical history and are there to be informed to make those decisions. Please forward this bill.
