As a software engineer I am strongly against this bill. If you want to avoid ticket scalping then physically mail tickets and bust them for US Mail fraud if applicable. It is technically impossible to distinguish between a "bot" and human these days.LSA is lying if they think enforcing this bill will cost less than $1 million a year for the Polk County Attorney Office alone given the Meta/Microsoft data centers it applies to. This also puts civil liability on the millions of Meta/Microsoft customers who may want to avoid Iowa data centers. Let's not become woke Delaware.

This is a terrible idea for rural Iowa cities and school boards. In rural communities it is already hard to find good people willing to serve on these boards/councils. At a local level, no one cares about party affiliation only that youre repairing their potholes and keeping the garbage service going. Please do not advance this bill. As a former county chair its hard to get people to understand the importance of this process to run and is only serving as a barrier to serve.
