Concerning the absurd idea of 'televising' classrooms = Of the eons of dumb ideas going around the past five years, that one is very near the top!! I came to Iowa for college; became a teacher (now retired) and stayed in Iowa because of the great public schools. (Yeah, Bob Ray was governor, a solid, REAL GOP AND a man with character and morals. I doubt Jeff Kauffman would recognize him. Makes me sad.)Cameras in the classroom: 1. There's NO WAY for anonymity to be attained. 2. Teachers use names; if the name of someone's child is used repeatedly in a manner of discipline, it could be super detrimental in the community at large. (And in 1964 when I was sent to the hallway, it was best that I tell my parents and not some busybody watching on their computer!!!)3. "Focus" on the teacher! What, you think teachers stand like monuments at the front of the room or what. 4. no cost to schools?!?! What idiot thought that one up? There is NO tech yet invented that does not need time, attention, updating and maintenance. (Heck, even the Gov. knows that... she tried to use pandemic funds for something approved way prior for updating.)5. MOST CRAZY?? You've kicked the press out of the chamber; much of your deliberations happen out of sight of the public (Special session; even beyond midnight; new record for expedited, crazy legislation.) yet you bozos want to keep track of what's going on the first grade classroom?6. And, why don't you just say it: You want to eliminate "public schools" or at least "education." Keep it up; you're doing a hell of a good job.
