HSB71 If we are going to allow dentists to give vaccinations than they need to abide by the education, informed consent, and safety laws that pharmacists already do per iowa code and rules. Otherwise this is a disaster waiting to happen as the two vaccinations indicated as being available to being given in this setting are the two most reactogenic on the schedules. The flu shot alone comprises 57% of the $4.5 billion paid out from the vaccine injury compensation program and the new COVID19 vaccination is even more reactogenic than the flu shot. This is NOT an access issue, it is an allocation and availability of product issue and misuse of the product by giving it to people who have ALREADY RECOVERED from COVID and have nothing to gain from the vaccination per the clinical trial data. OPPOSE THIS BILL as currently written or amend it to follow what the pharmacists do.
