  The Senate met in regular session at 10:01 a.m., Senator Bartz
  presiding.

  Prayer was offered by the Reverend Steven Teske, pastor of the
  Trinity Lutheran Church in Shenandoah, Iowa, guest of Senator
  McLaren.

  The Journal of Thursday, April 12, 2001, was approved.

  RECESS

  On motion of Senator Boettger, the Senate recessed at 10:04 a.m.
  until 2:00 p.m.
