FIFTY-EIGHTH CALENDAR DAY THIRTY-FOURTH SESSION DAY Senate Chamber Des Moines, Iowa, Tuesday, March 6, 2001 The Senate met in regular session at 9:00 a.m., President Kramer presiding. Prayer was offered by the Reverend Dennis St. Lawrence, pastor of the Grace Baptist Church in Chariton, Iowa, guest of Senator McKinley. The Journal of Monday, March 5, 2001, was approved. INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTIONS Senate Concurrent Resolution 14, by Iverson, a concurrent resolution providing for a reduction in the appropriations from the general fund of the state for the legislative branch for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001. Read first time and referred to committee on Rules and Administration. Senate Resolution 18, by Iverson, Kramer, Boettger, and Veenstra, a Senate resolution declaring March 6, 2001, Marriage Day. Read first time and referred to committee on Rules and Administration. RECESS On motion of Senator Iverson, the Senate recessed at 9:04 a.m. until the completion of a meeting of the committee on Rules and Administration.
