  The Senate met in regular session at 9:07 a.m., President Kramer
  presiding.

  Prayer was offered by the Reverend Doug Helton, pastor of the
  Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles, Iowa, guest of Senator
  Johnson.

  The Journal of Monday, February 19, 2001, was approved.

  LEAVES OF ABSENCE

  Leaves of absence were granted as follows:

  Senator Holveck, until he arrives, and Senator Fiegen, for the week, on
  request of
  Senator Gronstal; and Senator McKean, until he arrives, on request of
  Senator Iverson.

  RECESS

  On motion of Senator Iverson, the Senate recessed at 9:21 a.m.
  until 5:00 p.m.
