House File 627, by Warnstadt, a bill for an act relating to the
proceedings of legislative ethics committees for factually inaccurate
statements made by legislators.
Read first time and referred to committee on ethics.
MESSAGE FROM THE SENTATE
The following message was received from the Senate:
Mr. Speaker: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the Senate has on
March 14, 2001, adopted the following resolution in which the concurrence of the
Senate was asked:
House Concurrent Resolution 19, a concurrent resolution requesting the
congressional delegation of the state of Iowa support President Bush's tax relief
proposal.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY OBSERVANCE
Prior to convening the House was entertained by the 2001 Irish
Dancers, under the direction of Mary Drew Kolhaas. Members of the
group were: Kelsey McCain, Shelby Krause, April Corley, Katelyn
Schany, Jenny Noonan, Ashley Opheim, Courtney Gappa, Kayla Bell
and Keri Zylstra.
Miss Shamrock, Katie Riley of Emmetsburg, was introduced to the
House by the Honorable Marcie Frevert of Palo Alto County.
The House rose and expressed its welcome.
Mertz of Kossuth and Connors of Polk read humorous Irish letters
from a mother and son.
Mertz of Kossuth, Connors of Polk, Brunkhorst of Bremer, Fallon
of Polk, Garman of Story, O’Brien of Boone, Boddicker of Cedar and
Hatch of Polk presented the Irish Flag with the traditional Irish jig.
Doorman John Feller sang "Danny Boy" accompanied by Fallon of
Polk.
