5 must be filed before the motion is made by the movant.
6 The request allows a member to speak on a particular
7 question before the closing discussion by the member
8 who is in charge of the measure or who is proposing
9 the amendment.
10 Rule 82
11 Division of the Question
12 Any member may call for a division of the question,
13 which shall be divided if it comprehends questions so
14 distinct that one being taken away, the remainder may
15 stand separately for discussion by the house. A
16 motion to strike out being lost shall not preclude
17 either an amendment or a motion to strike out and
18 insert. A motion to strike out and insert shall be
19 deemed indivisible.
Carroll of Poweshiek offered the following amendment H-1047
filed by him and moved its adoption:

1 Amend House Resolution 11 as follows:
2 1. Page 18, line 8, by striking the word
3 "thirteenth" and inserting the following: "thirteenth
4 fourteenth".
5 2. Page 18, line 8, by striking the word
6 "eleventh" and inserting the following: "eleventh
7 twelfth".
Amendment H-1047 was adopted.
Carroll of Poweshiek offered the following amendment H-1039
filed by him and moved its adoption:
H-1039
1 Amend House Resolution 11 as follows:
2 1. By striking page 22, line 29, through page 23,
3 line 2, and inserting the following:
4 "Rule 42
5 Certification and Engrossment of Bills
6 The chief clerk shall certify the passage of each
7 bill and note the date of its passage.
8 In engrossing a bill, the chief clerk shall correct
9 all obvious typographical, spelling, or other clerical
10 errors and change section subunit numbers and letters
11 and internal references as required to conform the
12 original bill to any amendments which have been
13 adopted. The chief clerk shall report all such
