  1  1    Amend Senate File 242 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by striking lines 1 through 6, and
  1  3 inserting the following:
  1  4    "Section 1.  Section 135B.7, Code 2001, is amended
  1  5 by adding the following new unnumbered paragraph:
  1  6    NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  The department shall
  1  7 adopt rules that require hospitals to establish
  1  8 procedures for authentication of medication and
  1  9 standing orders by a practitioner within a period not
  1 10 to exceed thirty days following a patient's
  1 11 discharge."
  1 12    #2.  Title page, line 2, by striking the word
  1 13 "verbal" and inserting the following:  "medication and
  1 14 standing".
