  1  1    Amend Senate File 2267, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1, the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  Section 602.6105, Code 2001, is amended
  1  6 by adding the following new subsection:
  1  7    NEW SUBSECTION.  2A.  The court shall maintain a
  1  8 magistrate court in a city that is not the county seat
  1  9 if a magistrate court existed in that city as of July
  1 10 1, 2001, and if the city requests a magistrate.  Any
  1 11 additional costs to the judicial branch for
  1 12 maintaining a magistrate in a city other than the
  1 13 county seat shall be paid by the city requesting the
  1 14 magistrate."
  1 15    #2.  Page 2, by inserting after line 24, the
  1 16 following:
  1 17    "Sec.    .  Section 602.6401, subsection 2, Code
  1 18 2001, is amended by adding the following new
  1 19 paragraph:
  1 20    NEW PARAGRAPH.  f.  The existence of a city in the
  1 21 county other than the county seat that maintained a
  1 22 magistrate court as of July 1, 2001.
  1 23    Sec.    .  REPEAL.  The sections of this Act
  1 24 amending sections 602.6105 and 602.6401 are repealed
  1 25 upon the division of the state into judicial districts
  1 26 and judicial election districts pursuant to section
  1 27 602.6107."
  1 28    #3.  Title page, line 1, by striking the words
  1 29 "districts and" and inserting the following:
  1 30 "districts,".
  1 31    #4.  Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
  1 32 word "districts" the following:  ", and magistrate
  1 33 court".
