8 a. Complete and file an application for a career
9 opportunities and resources for education grant. The
10 individual shall be responsible for the prompt
11 submission of any information required by the
12 commission.
13 b. File a new application and submit information
14 as required by the commission annually on the basis of
15 which the applicant's eligibility for the renewed
16 grant will be evaluated and determined.
17 7. If a student receives financial aid from any
18 source other than the program established under this
19 section, the full amount of such financial aid shall
20 be considered part of the student's financial
21 resources available in determining the amount of the
22 student's financial need for the period of the
23 financial aid. Grant moneys received by a student in
24 accordance with this section shall be used to pay the
25 student's cost of attendance, which includes community
26 college tuition and fees, materials, textbooks and
27 supplies, transportation, room and board, dependent
28 care during the time the person is in class, and the
29 purchase or rental of a computer.
30 8. The amount of the grant shall not exceed a
31 student's annual financial need or two thousand five
32 hundred dollars, whichever is less.
33 9. In order to be excused from repayment of the
34 total grant amount, a grant recipient shall remain a
35 resident of the state and be employed within the
36 state, for a period of two years after successful
37 completion of a career opportunities and resources for
38 education program. If a grant recipient changes
39 residence to another state prior to the time specified
40 by the commission, the commission shall establish a
41 plan for repayment of the total grant amount,
42 including an amount of interest to be prescribed by
43 the commission by rule, over a ten-year period. If a
44 person required to make the repayment does not make
45 the required payments, the commission shall provide
46 for payment collection.
47 10. The departments of economic development,
48 education, and workforce development, the college
49 student aid commission, and the community colleges
50 with designated programs shall jointly promote the

3 11. a career opportunities and resources for
4 education repayment fund is created for deposit of
5 payments made by grant recipients who do not fulfill
