IMMEDIATE MESSAGES
Rants of Woodbury asked and received unanimous consent that
the following bills be immediately messaged to the Senate: House
File 2548 and Senate File 2215.
On motion by Rants of Woodbury, the House was recessed at 11:40
a.m., until 1:00 p.m.
AFTERNOON SESSION
The House reconvened at 1:08 p.m., Speaker Siegrist in the chair.
ADOPTION OF HOUSE RESOLUTION 115
Rants of Woodbury asked and received unanimous consent for the
immediate consideration of House Resolution 115, a resolution
honoring bass-baritone singer Simon Estes.
Speaker Siegrist moved the adoption of the resolution.
The motion prevailed and the resolution was adopted.
SPECIAL PRESENTATION
Mr. Simon Estes, a world renown bass-baritone singer born in
Centerville, Iowa spoke briefly and performed before the House. He
was accompanied by Barbara Cortiesio a former classmate and his
high school accompanist. Both are friends of Susan Bruckshaw, clerk
for Representative Hansen of Pottawattamie.
The House rose and expressed its appreciation.
Representative Arnold of Lucas and Representative Kreiman of
Davis presented the resolution to Mr. Estes.
