Unfinished Business Calendar
House File 2545, a bill for an act relating to and making
appropriations to certain state departments, agencies, funds, and
certain other entities, providing for regulatory authority, and other
properly related matters, was taken up for consideration.
Murphy of Dubuque offered the following amendment H-8435 filed
by him and moved its adoption:

2 1. Page 1, line 9, by striking the figure
3 "1,397,432" and inserting the following: "1,490,432".

Thomas of Clayton offered the following amendment H-8399 filed
by him and moved its adoption:

1 Amend House File 2545 as follows:
2 1. Page 1, by inserting after line 21 the
3 following:
4 "Sec. . AUDITS SERVICES - COMPETITIVE BIDS.
5 1. Notwithstanding any contrary provision of law,
6 the department of agriculture and land stewardship and
7 the department of natural resources may execute
8 contracts with a person to perform audits of
9 departmental accounts as would otherwise be performed
10 by the auditor of state. The person performing the
11 audits shall be a certified public accountant licensed
12 in this state who shall prepare an unqualified opinion
13 according to general accounting practices to the
14 department and the auditor of state.
15 2. The department of agriculture and land
16 stewardship and the department of natural resources
