  House File 208

  On motion of Senator Miller, House File 208, a bill for an act
  establishing a southern Iowa development and conservation
  authority, specifying membership, powers, and duties, creating a
  southern Iowa development and conservation fund, and providing for
  other properly related matters, with report of committee
  recommending passage, was taken up for consideration.

  Senator Bartz asked and received unanimous consent that action
  on House File 208 be deferred.

  House File 182

  On motion of Senator Hammond, House File 182, a bill for an act
  expanding the criminal code definition of serious injury to include
  certain injuries to children, with report of committee recommending
  passage, was taken up for consideration.

  Senator Hammond moved that the bill be read the last time now
  and placed upon its passage, which motion prevailed by a voice vote,
  and the bill was read the last time.

  On the question "Shall the bill pass?" (H.F. 182), the vote was:
