  AFTERNOON SESSION

  The Senate reconvened at 1:20 p.m., President Kramer presiding.

  HOUSE MESSAGE RECEIVED

  The following message was received from the Chief Clerk of the
  House:

  MADAM PRESIDENT:  I am directed to inform your honorable body that the
  House has on January 25, 1999, adopted the following resolution in which the
  concurrence of the Senate is asked:

  House Concurrent Resolution 6, a concurrent resolution
  relating to a joint convention on Thursday, January 28, 1999, at
  10:00 a.m. for Governor Vilsack to present his State of the Budget
  Message.

  ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION
  (Regular Calendar)

  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to take up
  for consideration House Concurrent Resolution 6.

  House Concurrent Resolution 6

  On motion of Senator Iverson, House Concurrent Resolution 6, a
  concurrent resolution relating to a joint convention on Thursday,
  January 28, 1999, at 10:00 a.m., for Governor Vilsack to present his
  State of the Budget Message, was taken up for consideration.

  Senator Iverson moved adoption of House Concurrent Resolution 6,
  which motion prevailed by a voice vote and the resolution was
  adopted.

  INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTIONS

  Senate Resolution 1, by committee on Rules and
  Administration, a senate resolution relating to permanent rules of
  the senate for the seventy-eighth general assembly.

  Read first time and placed on calendar.
