filed by him and moved its adoption:

 1     Amend Senate File 276, as amended, passed, and
 2   reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
 3     1.  Page 6, by striking line 18 and inserting the
 4   following:  "the provision of medically necessary or
 5   appropriate services."
 6     2.  Page 6, line 31, by striking the words
 7   "medical necessity" and inserting the following:  "the
 8   provision of medically necessary or appropriate
 9   services".
10     3.  Page 7, by inserting after line 4 the
11   following:
12     "     .  "Medically necessary or appropriate" means,
13   with respect to a service or benefit, a service or
14   benefit which is consistent with generally accepted
15   principles of professional medical practice."
16     4.  Page 8, by striking lines 8 and 9 and
17   inserting the following:  "of medically necessary or
18   appropriate."
19     5.  Page 12, by striking lines 19 through 20 and
20   inserting the following:  "necessary or appropriate
21   and consistent with clinical standards of".
22     6.  By renumbering as necessary.
