The House met pursuant to adjournment at 8:45 a.m., Eddie of 
Buena Vista in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend Roy Nilsen, pastor of St. John's 
Lutheran Church, Des Moines.
The Journal of Tuesday, March 2, 1999 was approved.
PETITONS FILED
The following petitions were received and placed on file:
By Arnold of Lucas from forty-four constituents from the 90th 
district opposing electric companies deregulation.
By Jager of Black Hawk from one hundred sixty-five constituents 
favoring a fuel quality standard for the state of Iowa.
By Kreiman of Davis from forty-four constituents opposing 
deregulation of electric companies.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Leave of absence was granted as follows:
Garman of Story, until her arrival, and Rants of Woodbury, on request of Siegrist of 
Pottawattamie; Schrader of Marion on request of Myers of Johnson. 
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House Joint Resolution 10, by Bradley, a joint resolution 
requesting the United States Department of Defense and the United 
States Army to place additional production work at the Rock Island 
Arsenal.
