Tenth Calendar Day - Seventh Session Day Hall of the House of Representatives Des Moines, Iowa, Wednesday, January 20, 1999 The House met pursuant to adjournment at 8:50 a.m., Speaker Corbett in the chair. Prayer was offered by Reverend Jerry Miller, pastor of Grimes United Methodist Church, Grimes. The Journal of Tuesday, January 19, 1999 was approved. INTRODUCTION OF BILLS House File 102, by Alons, a bill for an act providing an exemption from the sales and use taxes for clothing, including certain footwear. Read first time and referred to committee on ways and means. House File 103, by Blodgett, a bill for an act relating to the operating location of licensed excursion gambling boats. Read first time and referred to committee on state government. House File 104, by Kreiman, a bill for an act relating to children in the custody of the department of human services who have been placed in the same licensed foster home for twelve months or more. Read first time and referred to committee on human resources. House File 105, by Rayhons, a bill for an act prohibiting the scheduling of extracurricular activities after a certain hour on Wednesday evenings and providing an applicability date. Read first time and referred to committee on education. House File 106, by Bukta, a bill for an act relating to the elements to be considered by the court in awarding child support and in awarding support to either party to a judgment of dissolution, annulment, or separate maintenance.
