  1 19 A House Resolution congratulating the Iowa State
  1 20    Cyclones Women's Basketball Team.
  1 21    WHEREAS, the citizens of Iowa are greatly pleased
  1 22 and justly proud that the Iowa State Cyclones Women's
  1 23 Basketball Team won their first-ever championship at
  1 24 the Big 12 Conference Tournament, defeating their
  1 25 three opponents by an average of more than 27 points
  1 26 and breaking single-game tournament records for three-
  1 27 pointers made, three-point attempts, margin of
  1 28 victory, points in a half, and defensive rebounds; and
  1 29    WHEREAS, the Iowa State Cyclones Women's Basketball
  1 30 Team won a school record of 27 games this season, and
  2  1 finished the season with the fewest losses in program
  2  2 history; and
  2  3    WHEREAS, the Iowa State Cyclones Women's Basketball
  2  4 Team advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen seeded no. 3,
  2  5 set an NCAA Midwest Region record with 15 three-
  2  6 pointers in the game against Saint Francis, and lost
  2  7 the semifinal game to Penn State by only one point
  2  8 made within the last 15 seconds of the game; and
  2  9    WHEREAS, the Iowa State Cyclones Women's Basketball
  2 10 Team consistently thrilled spectators and drew
  2 11 tremendous attendance and support from its fans,
  2 12 setting Big 12 Conference and NCAA Tournament
  2 13 attendance records; and
  2 14    WHEREAS, the Iowa State Cyclones Women's Basketball
  2 15 Team and Coach Bill Fennelly and the coaching staff
  2 16 delighted Iowans with their hard work, teamwork, and
  2 17 victories; NOW THEREFORE,
  2 18    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPESENTATIVES, That
  2 19 the House of Representatives congratulates Coach Bill
  2 20 Fennelly and the Iowa State Cyclones Women's
  2 21 Basketball Team on their successful season, thanks
  2 22 them for the honor and excitement they brought to the
  2 23 State of Iowa, and wishes them the very best in the
  2 24 future.
