PAG LIN 1 1 Amend the amendment, H-8343, to Senate File 2111, 1 2 as passed by the Senate, as follows: 1 3 #1. Page 1, by striking lines 5 through 33 and 1 4 inserting the following: 1 5 ""Section 1. Section 257.13, subsections 1 and 3, 1 6 Code Supplement 1999, are amended to read as follows: 1 7 1. For the school budget year beginning July 1, 1 819992000, if a district's actual enrollment for the 1 9 budget year, determined under section 257.6, is 1 10 greater than its budget enrollment for the budget 1 11 year, the district may submit a request to the school 1 12 budget review committee for on-time funding for new 1 13 students. The school budget review committee shall 1 14 consider the relative increase in enrollment on a 1 15 district-by-district basis, in determining whether to 1 16 approve the request, and shall determine the amount of 1 17 additional funding to be provided if the request is 1 18 granted. An application for on-time funding pursuant 1 19 to this subsection must be received by the department 1 20 of education by November 1. Written notice of the 1 21 committee's decision shall be given through the 1 22 department of education to the school board for a 1 23 district. 1 24 3. There is appropriated for the fiscal year 1 25 beginning July 1,19992000, and ending June 30,20001 26 2001, from the general fund of the state to the 1 27 department of education up to four million dollars to 1 28 pay additional funding authorized under this section, 1 29 which shall be paid to school districts in the same 1 30 manner as other state aids payable under section 1 31 257.16. If the requests approved by the school budget 1 32 review committee exceed the appropriation in this 1 33 subsection, the payments to school districts receiving 1 34 approval for on-time funding shall be prorated such 1 35 that each school district approved for on-time funding 1 36 shall receive an amount of on-time funding equal to 1 37 the percentage that the on-time funding to be provided 1 38 to the district bears to the total amount of on-time 1 39 funding to be provided to all districts receiving 1 40 approval."" 1 41 1 42 1 43 1 44 RICHARDSON of Warren 1 45 SF 2111.202 78 1 46 rn/gg
