1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 1 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "0A. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE. The purposes and
1 6 policies of this section are as follows:
1 7 a. To promote the compelling interest of the
1 8 public in fair business relationships between
1 9 franchisees and franchisors, and in the continuation
1 10 of franchises on a fair basis.
1 11 b. To protect franchisees against unfair treatment
1 12 by franchisors, who inherently have superior economic
1 13 power and superior bargaining power in the negotiation
1 14 of franchises.
1 15 c. To provide franchisees with rights and remedies
1 16 in addition to these existing by contractor common
1 17 law.
1 18 d. To govern all franchises, including any
1 19 renewals or amendments, to the full extent consistent
1 20 with the constitutions of this state and the United
1 21 States."
