18 has unselfishly given of his time and efforts to 19 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to 20 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa; 21 and 22 WHEREAS, Senator Vilsack has served on many other 23 standing committees throughout his six years of 24 legislative service and has been an influential and 25 devoted legislator in this state; NOW THEREFORE, 26 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay 27 tribute to Senator Tom Vilsack for his devoted service 28 to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens of this 29 state and wish him the very best in the years ahead; 30 and Page 2 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of 2 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator 3 Tom Vilsack, with report of committee recommending passage, was taken up for consideration. Senator Hedge took the chair at 5:12 p.m. President pro tempore Redfern took the chair at 5:17 p.m. President Kramer took the chair at 5:44 p.m. Senator Iverson moved the adoption of Senate Resolution 111, which motion prevailed by a voice vote. HOUSE MESSAGES RECEIVED The following messages were received from the Chief Clerk of the House: MADAM PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the House has on April 20, 1998, amended and passed the following bills in which the concurrence of the Senate is asked: Senate File 2061, a bill for an act relating to a delay in implementing the inclusion of certain information on property tax statements by providing a deferral application process and providing an effective date (S-5762).
