1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
1 3 A Senate Resolution honoring Senator Tom Vilsack.
1 4 WHEREAS, Senator Tom Vilsack is retiring from
1 5 legislative office after completing two terms in
1 6 office as a state Senator; and
1 7 WHEREAS, Senator Vilsack's service as Chairperson
1 8 of the Economic Development Appropriations
1 9 Subcommittee and of the Regulation Appropriations
1 10 Subcommittees and as Vice Chair of the Small Business,
1 11 Economic Development and Tourism Committee and of the
1 12 Judiciary Committee is well recognized; and
1 13 WHEREAS, Senator Vilsack's dedication, leadership,
1 14 and expertise in the areas of economic growth and job
1 15 creation, and the administration of justice are well
1 16 recognized; and
1 17 WHEREAS, Senator Vilsack has served honorably and
1 18 has unselfishly given of his time and efforts to
1 19 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to
1 20 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa;
1 21 and
1 22 WHEREAS, Senator Vilsack has served on many other
1 23 standing committees throughout his six years of
1 24 legislative service and has been an influential and
1 25 devoted legislator in this state; NOW THEREFORE,
1 26 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay
1 27 tribute to Senator Tom Vilsack for his devoted service
1 28 to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens of this
1 29 state and wish him the very best in the years ahead;
1 30 and
2 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 2 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator
2 3 Tom Vilsack.
