  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent that
  Senate Files 2200, 2268, and 2284 be immediately messaged to
  the House.

  UNFINISHED BUSINESS

  House File 2496

  On motion of Senator Rittmer, House File 2496, a bill for an act
  relating to public retirement systems, and providing effective,
  implementation, and applicability dates, with report of committee
  without recommendation, placed on the Unfinished Business
  Calendar on March 26, 1998, was taken up for consideration.

  Senator Halvorson asked and received unanimous consent that
  action on House File 2496 be deferred.

  CONSIDERATION OF BILL
  (Ways and Means Calendar)

  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to take up
  for consideration Senate File 2413.

  Senate File 2413

  On motion of Senator Freeman, Senate File 2413, a bill for an act
  relating to exemptions from and reductions in solid waste tonnage
  fees for certain persons, was taken up for consideration.

  Senator Freeman asked and received unanimous consent to
  withdraw amendment S-5461, filed by Senators Freeman and Judge
  on April 1, 1998, to pages 1 and 2 of the bill.

  Senator Freeman offered amendment S-5639, filed by her from the
  floor to pages 1 and 2 of the bill, and moved its adoption.

  Amendment S-5639 was adopted by a voice vote.
