Senator Hedge offered amendment S-5140, filed by him on March 4, 1998, to page 1 of the bill. Senator Rehberg asked and received unanimous consent that action on amendment S-5140 and Senate File 2284 be deferred. BUSINESS PENDING Senate File 2367 The Senate resumed consideration of Senate File 2367, a bill for an act relating to county vital statistics by providing for the issuance of marriage licenses and eliminating the fee for county birth registrations, previously deferred. Senator Redwine moved that the bill be read the last time now and placed upon its passage, which motion prevailed by a voice vote, and the bill was read the last time. On the question "Shall the bill pass?" Absent or not voting, 5: Angelo Lundby McLaren Rife Vilsack The bill having received a constitutional majority was declared to have passed the Senate and the title was agreed to.
