  The appointee having received a two-thirds vote was declared to
  have been confirmed by the Senate.

  Senator Szymoniak called up the appointment of Kim D. Schmett
  as Director of the Department of Inspections and Appeals, placed on
  the Individual Confirmation Calendar on February 27, 1997, for
  appointment on page 429, and for reappointment on March 27, 1997,
  and found on page 845 of the Senate Journal.

  Senator Szymoniak moved that the foregoing appointment be
  confirmed by the Senate.

  On the question "Shall the appointee be confirmed?"  the vote was:

  Senator Gronstal called up the appointment of Roger A. Halvorson
  as Administrator of Professional Licensing and Regulation, placed on
  the Individual Confirmation Calendar on March 6, 1997, and found
  on page 516 of the Senate Journal.
