  548 JOURNAL OF THE SENATE 57th Day
  report of committee recommending passage, was taken up for
  consideration.

  Senator Kibbie moved the adoption of House Concurrent Resolution
  11, which motion prevailed by a voice vote.

  IMMEDIATELY MESSAGED

  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent that
  Senate File 299 and House Concurrent Resolutions 10 and 11 be
  immediately messaged to the House.

  HOUSE MESSAGES RECEIVED AND CONSIDERED

  The following messages were received from the Chief Clerk of the
  House:

  MADAM PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the House
  has on March 10, 1997, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of
  the
  Senate is asked:

  House File 330, a bill for an act relating to the state income tax
  checkoff for domestic abuse services and providing a retroactive
  applicability date.

  This bill was read first time and passed on file.

  House File 383, a bill for an act relating to information centers
  and rest areas on interstate or primary highways and providing
  effective and retroactive applicability dates.

  This bill was read first time and passed on file.

  INTRODUCTION OF BILLS

  Senate Joint Resolution 12, by committee on Judiciary, a joint
  resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the State
  of Iowa to provide for certain rights for victims of crimes.

  Read first time and placed on calendar.
