PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 275.57 CHANGING DIRECTOR 1 2 DISTRICT BOUNDARIES FOLLOWING DISSOLUTION. 1 3 1. If a school district accepting attachments of a 1 4 dissolved school district is divided into director districts 1 5 as provided in section 275.12, subsection 2, paragraph "b", 1 6 "c", "d", or "e", at the time of attachments, the board of 1 7 directors of the district accepting attachments shall develop 1 8 a proposal in a resolution to incorporate the attached 1 9 territory into the director districts contiguous to the 1 10 attached territory. If the attached territory is contiguous 1 11 to more than one director district, the board may divide the 1 12 territory and attach it to more than one director district. 1 13 The extended director district boundaries shall be drawn 1 14 according to standards provided in section 275.23A, subsection 1 15 1, paragraphs "a", "c", and "d". 1 16 2. Prior to adoption of a resolution to incorporate the 1 17 attached territory as provided in subsection 1, the board of 1 18 directors of the school district accepting the attachments 1 19 shall hold a public hearing on the proposed director district 1 20 boundary changes contained in the resolution. The board shall 1 21 publish notice of the time and place of a public hearing on 1 22 the resolution. Notice of the time and place of the public 1 23 hearing shall be published not less than ten nor more than 1 24 twenty days before the public hearing in a newspaper of 1 25 general circulation in the school district. The public 1 26 hearing on the resolution shall be held not later than May 15 1 27 following dissolution. 1 28 3. The resolution adopted by the school board shall 1 29 contain a legal description of the new director district 1 30 boundaries and a map of the director districts as changed by 1 31 adoption of the resolution, and shall be submitted by the 1 32 school board to the state commissioner of elections and the 1 33 county commissioner of elections of each county in which a 1 34 portion of the school district is located by June 15 following 1 35 dissolution. 2 1 4. The boundary changes adopted by resolution under this 2 2 section take effect upon adoption of the resolution for the 2 3 next regular school election. 2 4 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.
