  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 17 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec. 2.  Section 618.1, Code 1997, is amended to
  1  5 read as follows:
  1  6    618.1  PUBLICATIONS IN ENGLISH.
  1  7    All notices, proceedings, and other matter
  1  8 whatsoever, required by law or ordinance to be
  1  9 published in a newspaper, shall be published only in
  1 10 the English language and in newspapers published
  1 11 wholly predominantly in the English language."
