1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 103A.7A STATE GOVERNMENT
1 2 PROJECTS – APPLICATION OF LOCAL BUILDING CODES –
1 3 APPRENTICESHIP.
1 4 Any project bid solicited and approved by any state agency
1 5 shall require compliance with the standards set forth in the
1 6 codes, regulations, or procedures required for construction,
1 7 electrical, and plumbing projects by the governmental
1 8 subdivision in which the project is located. Apprentices
1 9 retained for a project must be registered with a state or
1 10 federally approved apprenticeship training school.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill requires that bids solicited and approved by any
1 13 state agency shall require compliance with the construction,
1 14 electrical, and plumbing codes, regulations, and procedures
1 15 required by the governmental subdivision in which the project
1 16 is located. Apprentices retained for the project must be
1 17 registered with a state or federally approved apprenticeship
1 18 training school.
