1 1 Section 1. Section 725.9, Code 1997, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 6. This section does not apply to, or
1 4 prohibit, the ownership, possession, or operation of a slot
1 5 machine by an individual if the slot machine is located in the
1 6 individual's residence and is used only for personal or
1 7 noncommercial social or entertainment purposes.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill removes the prohibition against possession and
1 10 control of a slot machine other than an antique slot machine,
1 11 by an individual if the slot machine is located in the
1 12 individual's residence and is used only for personal or
1 13 noncommercial social or entertainment purposes.
