1 1 Section 1. Section 18.8, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code
1 2 1997, is amended to read as follows:
1 3 The director shall provide necessary voice or data
1 4 communications, including telephone and telegraph, lighting,
1 5 fuel, and water services for the state buildings and grounds
1 6 located at the seat of government, except the buildings and
1 7 grounds referred to in section 216B.3, subsection 6. The
1 8 director shall establish, supervise, and maintain a toll-free
1 9 telephone number to provide directory assistance. The
1 10 directory assistance shall provide telephone numbers for all
1 11 state government offices.
1 12 EXPLANATION
1 13 This bill provides that the director of the department of
1 14 general services shall establish, supervise, and maintain a
1 15 toll-free telephone number to provide directory assistance.
1 16 The directory assistance shall provide telephone numbers for
1 17 all state government offices.
