1 1 Amend the amendment, H-8594, to Senate File 2331,
1 2 as amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 4, the
1 5 following:
1 6 "Section 1. NEW SECTION. 80.42 STANDARDS FOR
1 7 PERSONS PROVIDING PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION OF PRISONERS.
1 8 The department of public safety shall adopt rules
1 9 which establish standards for persons engaged in this
1 10 state in the business of transporting prisoners under
1 11 a contract with the Iowa department of corrections or
1 12 a county sheriff, a similar agency from another state,
1 13 or the federal government. The rules shall include,
1 14 but are not limited to, rules which establish age and
1 15 character requirements and govern the carrying of
1 16 weapons by persons transporting prisoners."
1 17 #2. Page 1, line 23, by inserting before the word
1 18 "requirements" the following: "statutory".
1 19 #3. Page 1, by inserting after line 28, the
1 20 following:
1 21 "# . Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
1 22 word "services" the following: "and providing for the
1 23 adoption of rules"."
